Hadley Coat of Arms – Simeon Charles Hadley

In 1876 a grant of arms was made to Simeon Charles Hadley (1831 – 1890).  Simeon Charles was a Sheriff of London and also had an older brother called Timothy (b 1818). The arms on the graves were granted to Simeon Charles and his father, Samuel, and all the other (legitimate male) descendants of his father.

The description is “Gules on a Chevron Or between three falcons belled Argent three leaves of a Breadfruit Tree Vert and for the Crest upon a helm with a Wreath Or and Gules upon a Mount Vert a Flacon belled Argent holding in the Dexter Claw three Ears of Wheat and in the beak a Buckle the tongue downwards all Gold mantled Gules Doubled Or.”   A special thank you to Bernard Hadley of Devon for sharing his familes coat of arms.

We have worked with decendents of Simeon to document their family tree and create a DNA profile to assist future Hadley researchers to know definitively from which branch they decend.
